Texting sellers from the conversation
Texting lets you message sellers by text right inside the lead Conversation, alongside email. Replies land in the same thread, so every email and text with a seller lives in one place.
It is a Marketplace app: turn it on once for your account, get your own texting number, and a Text tab appears in every lead's Conversation.
What it costs
- $19/mo for the app.
- A small per-message amount for each text you send or receive, drawn from a prepaid texting balance you top up. The exact cost shows right under the message box before you send, along with your remaining balance.
Turning it on
- 1Go to Marketplace in the left sidebar and enable Texting (owners and admins only).
- 2Open Texting (or click Set up texting) and follow the short wizard:
- Agree to the Messaging Policy. - Verify your business — your legal business name and details. Phone carriers require this before any business can send texts; it is a one-time approval that usually takes 1 to 3 days. - Describe how you'll text — pick how people opt in, and we generate compliant sample messages for you. - Pick your number — search by area code and choose one.
You can keep using the rest of DispoStack while approval is pending. Once your number is approved, the Text tab goes live.
Sending a text
- 1Open a lead and find the Conversation card (or open the Inbox).
- 2Click the Text tab above the message box.
- 3Type your message. The cost and your balance show underneath.
- 4Click Send text.
Replies from the seller appear in the same thread automatically, marked as a text.
Who you can (and can't) text
- The lead must have a phone number. If it does not, the Text tab tells you so.
- If a seller replies STOP, they are opted out immediately and that number can't be texted again. This is the law (TCPA) and is enforced for you.
- Leads sourced from public records (for example, imported foreclosure or prospected-owner lists) can't be texted — those owners never opted in, so reaching out by text risks a violation. Work them another way until they opt in.
Always make sure you have permission to text someone before you do. You are the sender, so keeping that consent on file is your responsibility.
Your texting balance
Top up your balance from the texting settings. Each text draws from it; when it runs low, add more so your messages keep going out. Incoming replies cost a small amount too.
Turning it off
Disable Texting in the Marketplace the same way you enabled it. Your past messages stay in each conversation.
